Have you wondered what it takes to have your political party registered in Kenya? Below are the requirements.
A. Provisional registration.
- Name Search: Name, symbol and colour, in accordance with Article 91 of the Constitution of Kenya and section 8 of the PPA 2011
- Provide the party constitution.
- Submit minutes of the founding members.
- Sign the Code of Conduct.
- Submit a written application filed in the prescribed form.
- Pay the prescribed fee of KES. 100,000/= via bankers cheque.
B. Full registration Requirements
- Recruit at least 1,000 members in at least 24 counties considering (i) regional diversity, (ii) gender, (iii) minorities and (iv) marginalized.
- Establish a governing body considering (i) The 2/3 gender principle, (ii) Chapter 6 of the Constitution; (iii) Integrity test in accordance with the Leadership and Integrity Act, 2012.
- Provide a list of names address and ID numbers of members, as well as the location and address of Head Office and at least 24 county offices.
- Provide a duly signed Code of conduct.
- Pay the prescribed fee of KES 500,000/= via bankers cheque.
